Amman, Feb. 27 (Petra)-- Cold and partly cloudy conditions are expected across most regions on Friday, while slightly cool weather will prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteoroligical Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Light rain showers are forecast in limited parts of central and southwestern areas. Winds will be northwesterly, ranging from moderate to occasionally active.

The JMD warned of reduced horizontal visibility during the early morning hours due to fog over high mountainous areas and parts of the plains. Dust is also expected to lower visibility, particularly in desert regions. Frost formation is likely late at night over high mountain elevations and parts of the Badia. Motorists were also cautioned about slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall.

On Saturday, cold weather will continue in most areas, while conditions will be relatively mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Low-altitude clouds are expected to appear, with northwesterly winds shifting to northeasterly at moderate speeds.

A slight rise in temperatures is forecast for Sunday. Conditions will remain cold in most regions and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Increasing cloud cover at various altitudes is expected gradually during the afternoon hours. Winds will be moderate northeasterly, turning northwesterly later in the day.

Another slight increase in temperatures is expected on Monday. The weather will remain cold across much of the country and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with clouds at different altitudes. Winds will be northwesterly, moderate in speed and occasionally active.

Temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 10 degrees Celsius, and a low of 2 degrees.

Highs in the port city of Aqaba will reach 20 degrees during the day, sliding to 9 degrees at night.
